JOB DESCRIPTION
The Strategic Sourcing is a critical part of the Axis’ development process and is responsible for formulating, communicating, and executing a sourcing strategy relative to their respective commodity which consists of the materials, supplies and components necessary to develop products for Axis. It’s your job to lead supplier sourcing / selection activities and successfully manage the supplier relationship to ensure that the supply chain is capable of delivering high quality, cost effective products to support production requirements.
Furthermore the Strategic Sourcing has an important role in ensuring that their respective commodity meets the technical and price specifications necessary for Axis to develop products which meet the technical and price specifications.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Develop a commodity technology roadmap aligning business requirements with supplier capabilities.
• Responsible for AVL (Approved Vendors List) for commodity, supplier selection and qualification.
• Manage overall supplier relationships including supplier performance, capability development and cost improvements.
• Work closely with R&D to influence technical design decisions to meet technical capabilities, and business objectives.
The position requires approximately 40 days of travelling a year.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Axis is looking for a driven, open minded and structured individual with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Operations, Mechanical Engineering or similar. The right candidate has also five years of experience in sourcing/purchase environment, preferable within mechanical field.
We believe that you have a strong ability to collaborate across organizational and cultural boarders and it’s considered an advantage to have experience from ERP system. Furthermore you are hands on and used to do what needs to be done. Very good communications skills in English, both written and verbal, are required.

THE SOURCING TEAM
The Sourcing team is involved in all stages of a products lifetime - e.g. industrialization, development, design for manufacturing and product data management in PDM and ERP system during development of new products and during serial production the group supports with maintenance and product changes. The main collaboration is with R&D, EMS’s, the configuration & logistic centres and the quality department.
