What you will be a part of
Aeronautics, a business area of Saab, offers advanced airborne systems, related subsystems, unmanned aerial systems, aerostructures and services to defence customers and commercial aerospace industries worldwide. Aeronautics is also responsible for development, production, marketing, selling and supporting of the Gripen fighter.
Strategic Sourcing Aeronautics is responsible for external procurement and sourcing for Aeronautics products. We work in a highly international environment where a majority of our suppliers are foreign. A professional sourcing operation with developed business relations with our suppliers is crucial for the sustainability and profitability of Saab and our products. Our success depends on the ability of Strategic Sourcing to build professional and integrated relations with our suppliers. You will be part of the Strategic Sourcing office comprising 40 dedicated co-workers, a majority of whom work directly with qualified strategic sourcing.
Your role
As a Strategic Sourcing Manager at Aeronautics you work with business, projects, and relations primarily linked to Gripen. You are responsible for business relations with select suppliers with a focus on their long term commitment to Saab. You will be responsible for procurement in both new and existing projects in close collaboration with the technical and engineering part of Aeronautics. You are also expected to participate in driving the continuous development of our processes, methods, and Tools.
As a Strategic Sourcing Manager you will build a large professional network within our organisation as well as with our suppliers.
Your skills and experience
You have commercial experience and solid knowledge of strategic sourcing. You are committed and engaging, and your work is structured, thorough, and shows business acumen. You have great ability to build lasting, long-term business relations. It is important that you find it easy and enjoyable to collaborate, both with co-workers and with suppliers, and that you are persistent and preserving. You have an MBA, a M.Sc. in engineering, a LL.M. or an equivalent documented education. You are proficient in both written and spoken English. Familiarity with at least one other language and international experience are both considered as advantages.
