Commodity Sheet metal
As a commodity buyer, you are responsible for your segment and parts in the running production where you plan, implement and manage the strategy for our business and your suppliers to achieve set goals. As a strategic sourcing manager, focus is on cost and delivery, but also quality, technology and sustainability. In your daily work, you will work closely with the suppliers and R&D with both commercial and technical analysis of your business area. The duties vary and you are expected to handle quick solutions to urgent problems as long-term strategic decisions. As a commodity purchaser, you will also lead and develop the strategy and collaboration for a 3-ring, which consists of colleagues from the groups within the project and quality.
The workplace is in Södertälje with an expectation of working in the office most of the time. The possibility of flexible work is also available, either from home or from our office in central Stockholm for a certain part of the time. We all work according to Scania's values and you share them.
Your profile
We are looking for you with previous experience in purchasing work, or other commercial work, and have a passion for business. You are result- and goal-oriented, driven and stress-resistant and able to handle many issues at the same time. As the market we operate in is in a changing context, it is important that you are independent and confident in sometimes navigating without a precise process as support.
You will have many contacts and get to justify and argue for your cases in different contexts. It is therefore of great importance that you can communicate easily both within spoken and writing, have great integrity and enjoy meeting new people and creating networks.
You feel great responsibility for your deliveries and commitments and deliver on time to the right quality. Sometimes going outside your area of responsibility to achieve long-term and sustainable results for Scania is something you are comfortable with. Scania strives to be a dynamic workplace with openness and constant improvements. That you have a positive attitude towards new working methods as well as a critical review of existing ones is therefore of great importance. You have an interest in business development, which will be part of the work that is highly relevant as many processes and working methods are under development.
As a person, you are positive and contribute to good cohesion in the group, despite the fact that the work pace is sometimes high. Since there are often many subjects that must be handled at the same time, it is of great importance that you are analytical, structured, flexible and solution-oriented.
You are a civil engineer, have a master in business administration or have acquired equivalent knowledge in another way and speak and write English fluently. Swedish is an advantage. Travels often occurs in the job and you have a B driver's license.
