What you will be a part of
Support and Services, a business area of Saab, supplies a wide range of services and integrated support solutions to customers in defence and on commercial markets for cost-efficient support of systems and platforms throughout their life cycle. Business unit Airborne ISR is growing with several crucial ongoing projects and prospects, leading the Sourcing and Supply Department to further expand competences and resources within two roles: Strategic Sourcing, with a footprint on the early stages of procurement and Strategic Procurement, more focused on procurement towards on-going projects.Both roles call for your engagement on the highest technical and commercial level of the procurement chain to secure availability of highly qualified airborne systems. The work requires establishing and maintaining long-term relationships with international suppliers/partners with an opportunity to influence both content and execution. In both roles you will be playing the leading role in our purchasing teams. The purchasing process within the Saab group is coordinated in terms of category management, supplier relations, cost reduction, supply chain and development of tools. Opportunities for training within purchase on a company-wide basis are also available.High service level, communication and cooperation are key words in our objective to satisfy the needs of our customers.
Your role
Your common tasks as a Strategic Sourcing or Procurement Manager will be early involvement in procurement related activities and perform contract and price negotiations of highly advance systems with current or future suppliers. As a Strategic Sourcing Manager you will also be involved in early-stage products development and sales and marketing activities including offset and countertrade sourcing. You will also be involved in the continuous development of our methods and tools.
Your skills and experience
You have a solid background in strategic purchasing of technical systems with several years of negotiation and contract work experience with international suppliers and leadership experience. To succeed in your role, you shall be able to act independently in these duties and take own necessary initiatives regarding supplier choices for example.You are skilled in working strategically, with high focus on customer needs and satisfaction. You are a good listener creating trust. You also own good project management skills.Your educational background is probably at university level within engineering, economics and/or law. Excellent skills in English and Swedish, verbal as well as in writing are pre-requisite.The service entails working with classified highly confidential information. The position is based in Linköping.
