For our Kanthal Services department in Hallstahammar, we are now looking for a strategic and curious Strategic Purchaser who wants to help strengthen and develop our business globally. In this position, you support three areas of Kanthal Business - Kanthal Services, Complimentary Products and Global Supply Chain. Some national and international travel is a natural part of this position.
Job Summary
As a Strategic Purchaser, you provide operational expertise in our various sourcing and logistics processes. You are responsible for contract and supply management, and optimize the performance of all suppliers delivering products and services, by globally sourcing the right quality, on time and at optimum cost. You are a key player in negotiations for direct material and sub-contracting, where you work to establish new contracts and procurement processes.
You actively lead the search for, and development of, new sourcing routes for Kanthal products for ad-hoc and project requests. Furthermore, you manage supply chain risk on a global level and work to reduce and mitigate risk through different sourcing methods. Administering our ERP system, Movex/M3, and leading the local purchasing teams in global markets are two more of your responsibilities, while other related assignments may also be relevant to you in this job.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a University degree or similar education, preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering, and/or practical experience from Supply Chain Management, where a complementary accreditation from the Charted Institute of Procurement and Supply or similar institution is highly beneficial, but not a requirement. You have a minimum of three years of relevant experience from working in a global role with sourcing, negotiation and international contract management, and you have extensive business knowledge for the engineering industry. Other requirements for success in this position are general IT knowledge and MS Office skills. It is also beneficial if you have previously worked with Movex/M3, have acquired a CIPS or CISilf certificate and have a driver's license. As we operate in an international environment, you need to be fluent in English and Swedish with other additional languages being advantageous.
