Sustainable Power is a function within Strategic Product Planning (SPP). We support Strategic Product Planning and Volvo Group Trucks Technology with Product Plans and strategies focusing a wide range of technology areas such as internal combustion engines, battery electric solutions, fuel cell solutions, and propulsion systems. Needless to say, these interesting areas are of high importance for a successful journey towards 100% fossil free in 2040.
We are now looking for a Strategic Product Planner, Fuel Cell Solutions.
What will you do?
Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV) are part of Volvo Group's "three pronged approach". Being a highly energy efficient, zero emission and sustainable solution FCEV's are expected to represent an important market segment in the future.
Your focus will be on driving the strategy and plan for the FCEV's for Volvo Group's truck brands and also coordinated with the other business areas in the Group. Always with the customer and his or her profitability in mind. It requires a holistic perspective to derive an optimized plan from various inputs, such as e.g. customer and society needs, competitor analysis, future regulations and technology evolution.
In this role you will be working closely with powertrain and vehicle engineering as well as with truck brand representatives globally. Towards our stakeholders you are an ambassador for the full capacity of SPP, and internally SPP you are the go-to person for Fuel Cell related matters.
A key deliverable of yours is the Fuel Cell Product Plan. To further develop the plan, you will need to understand fuel cell and hydrogen technologies and take a leading position in discussions about alternative ways forward. That involves a broad spectrum of stakeholders of course. In due time, it needs to come down to a well anchored and structured decision proposal striking the perfect balance of various requests.
Who are you?
You have a well-developed business acumen acquired through several years in a strategic, business development, or program/product management position in a multinational business-to-business industry. Traits such as being analytical and structured as well as being an effective communicator are essential. The nature of this position presents challenges due to its forward-looking nature and the desired facts & figures are not always present, why you need to be openminded, tolerant to uncertainty and yet decisive. An interest in and knowledge about fuel cell propulsion systems on a technology level is also important. You do not have direct reports on your own, but you are nevertheless in a leading position in the company, expected to utilize your network to strongly influence on our future.
You hold a master's degree education or a bachelor's degree if combined with several years of relevant work experience. Experience from other industries is a merit. It is taken for granted that you live and share the Volvo Group Values and take inspiration from the Mission - "Driving prosperity through transport solutions."
The role includes occasional travelling domestically and internationally.
