Strategic Lead of Data & AI in Operations
The Strategic Lead of AI & Data in Operations is responsible for establishing our first comprehensive strategic roadmap for Sanoma Learning to leverage our data using AI/GenAI in relation to delivering our product strategy and improving our internal processes. The role will report to the Chief of Strategic Programs in Operations and will have a leading role in the FOCUS program with the assignment as leader of the cross-functional Work Stream "Data & AI".
The Strategic Lead will work and collaborate closely with the organization related to all aspects about data collection, utilization, and selection of technical tooling to effectively develop and implement an AI and data roadmap that drives innovation, supports business objectives, and ensures the responsible use of data and AI technologies within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
This role will be responsible for the following:
Strategic leadership and project management
• Formulate and drive the strategic roadmap for Data, AI, and GenAI initiatives, aligning them with the organization's overall business objectives
• Identify opportunities where Data, AI, and GenAI can innovate and transform business processes, products, or services
• Lead the Work Stream "Data & AI" in FOCUS Program to develop a common roadmap for Data, AI, and GenAI adoption, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation
• Work closely with other departments in Operations to ensure AI and GenAI initiatives are integrated into broader business processes
• Communicate the value, progress, and results of AI and GenAI initiatives to senior management and other key stakeholders
• Engage with business leaders to understand their needs and ensure Data, AI, and GenAI projects are aligned with business priorities
• Evaluate and recommend the appropriate Data, AI, and GenAI tools, platforms, and frameworks that best suit the organization's needs
• Evaluate and secure policies and practices to ensure the ethical use of AI and GenAI, and activities comply with relevant data protection regulations, including privacy and GDPR, and K12 industry standards
A successful candidate will have the following:
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field
• A Master's degree (e.g. MBA) is desirable.
Experience:
• 5+ years of experience working with deployment of AI and GenAI
• Proven experience in managing complex and cross-functional projects within large organizations
• Strong understanding of data science principles, including data processing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
• Proficiency in programming languages, e.g. Python, SQL, Tableau, Alteryx
• Comprehensive knowledge of AI and GenAI, e.g. expertise in AI/ML algorithms, natural language processing (NLP), and generative models, and large language models (LLMs).
Skills:
• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization
• Ability to clearly communicate complex AI and GenAI concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Skills in evaluating the return on investment (ROI) for AI and GenAI projects, ensuring they provide measurable benefits to the organization.
• Understanding of the ethical implications of AI and GenAI, with the ability to implement practices that ensure responsible AI use
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and industry standards relevant to AI and GenAI applications
