About the Assignment
We are looking for a Strategic Buyer to support strategic sourcing and purchasing within a defined commodity area. In this role, you will drive cost reduction initiatives, implement segment strategies, and develop strong supplier relationships in a cross-functional environment. Depending on scope, you may also contribute to transformation initiatives such as digitalization and sustainability.
Job DescriptionInitiate and drive strategic sourcing activities and cost reduction initiatives.
Develop and implement the segment strategy within your area of responsibility.
Drive strategic purchasing activities within the commodity scope.
Establish supplier relationship management processes and continuous improvement targets.
Negotiate contracts and coordinate supplier integration plans with internal stakeholders.
Monitor market dynamics affecting availability and pricing of materials and services.
Partner with internal stakeholders to identify sourcing needs, analyze market trends, and define acceptable service levels.
Requirements2-5 years of experience in a relevant purchasing/strategic sourcing role.
Experience driving strategic sourcing and cost reduction work.
Experience in supplier relationship management and continuous improvement.
Contract negotiation experience.
Ability to work independently with general supervision.
Nice to haveExperience driving transformation initiatives related to digitalization and/or sustainability.
Previous experience from Volvo.
