We are recruiting a Strategic Buyer to join our Strategic Souring team at the Cochlear BAS headquarters, reporting to the Manager Strategic Sourcing. This role collaborates with both internal and external cross-functional teams across the global Cochlear organization.

In this role you are responsible for purchasing strategy, supplier selection, supplier relationships and the cost of bought material within your commodities.

You will select, develop and manage supply sources and build relationships with vendors to deliver continuous supply of components. You will work closely with other departments in development and sustaining projects throughout the product life cycle from concept to obsolescence.

As we grow bone conducted solutions business, we are looking for people with highly specialised skills and capabilities who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions to our customers.

As a regulated company, Cochlear has a responsibility to hire people with the right skills and qualifications to do the work. To add value to Cochlear in this role you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

At least 5 years of experience of strategic purchasing from manufacturing industry, preferably within Medtech.
University level from Technical, Economic or other equivalent education.
Knowledge of high-tech manufacturing and engineering-focused manufacturing.
Good knowledge of quality and regulatory requirements for medical device industry.
Experience, interested in and enjoying continuous improvement and change management.
Very good communication skills (oral and written) in Swedish and English.
Very good knowledge of Windows Office.
Demonstrated experience in building commercial relationships and negotiating term.
Ability to quickly resolve daily challenges.
The ability to solve problems and collaborate to get work done that delivers benefits for Cochlear's customers.
A responsible attitude to working safely and building the safety culture.
