We are now looking for Steering Engineer.
Description
The Vehicle Motion Hardware Engineering Chapter is one of five competence teams within the Hardware Engineering Tribe. Areas we cover are Suspension, Steering, Brakes, Powertrain, Thermal Management and Climate Comfort. Our task is to provide NEVS present and future need for Hardware, Competence & Technology.
We work in a lean, agile organization where people with certain competences are either members of squads (smaller teams) with mutual responsibility, and/or act in a supporting role to these squads. To be successful you need to have an open mind, be solution oriented, a team player and able to adapt to change.
As an Engineer for Steering, you will be a key player in defining our future products, either traditional steering systems or in-house developed steer-by-wire systems. You are expected to contribute with your competence and experience in most phases of our different projects, from concept selection to industrialization, in fulfilling requirements for performance, legal, timing and cost with the chosen solution.

Work tasks
- Aid in Concept selection at vehicle architecture and system level.
- Contributing in setting requirements on component level.
- System integration into vehicle.
- Planning of validation and verification using (and refining) methods and procedures.
- Manage quality tools and following up during development and industrialization.
- Lead or support technical communication, both internal and external.
- Secure manufacturability and serviceability in the technical design of the components.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Several years of engineering experience working with steering systems and its integration into vehicle.
- Solid skills in working with PLM Systems, Change Management and Teamcenter.
- Knowledge of requirement fulfillment on system as well as component level.
- Deep understanding of the process collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering, NVH, Cost, Validation & Verification etc. during vehicle development.
- Comfortable with supplier interaction and what it takes to achieve set targets. Experience from working with Chinese suppliers is considered beneficial.
- Fundamental understanding of Mechanical Design, skills in CAD Design (NX) is not needed but considered beneficial.
- Very good skills in English language, both spoken and written. Knowledge of Swedish and/or Mandarin Chinese desirable.
