We are the Chassis & Climate department within Product and Quality at Volvo Car Group
Our department includes the sections Wheels Suspension, Steering, Braking, Wheels&Tyres and Climate.

What you'll do
As a function developer, you will be responsible for development of new functionality for future generation steering systems. Future generation steering systems have increased requirements regarding system safety thus system safety is of major importance for the role.
Main responsibilities:
- Development of concept level control systems
- Implementation of concept level control systems for prototypes
- Setup and configuration of rapid prototype environment for test objects
- Testing and analysis the concept control strategies
- Creation and analysis of requirements on the system components
- Perform preliminary Hazard analysis
- Initiate system safety work.
- Participation in quality assurance work for the functions

You and your skills
We want you to have at least a master's degree in relevant educational field. If you have a Ph.D. that is something that we see as meritorious.
We want you to have documented experience in function development and system safety.
You must be proficient in English, both written and spoken since we are a global company, and have a valid driver's license.
