AstraZeneca's Early Clinical Biometrics group are looking for a talented Statistics Team leader to join their statistics group.

Early Clinical Biometrics is totally focused on delivering innovation, science and seeking out opportunity. This dynamic group is expanding and we are now looking for passionate, innovative individuals to help develop, lead and shape the way we work. We are committed to supporting personal development and growth of individuals.

We are currently looking for an experienced statisticians to take on the Statistics Team Leader role to provide strategic direction and manage a team of statisticians supporting clinical trials in early development. This appointment will be based in Gothenburg, Sweden or Cambridge, UK.

Main duties and responsibilities

* Lead, manage and develop a group of statisticians, providing guidance and mentoring
* Provide leadership of diverse initiatives to drive scientific innovation and best practice
* Improve statistical methodology, processes and delivery activities
* Deliver efficient and effective capacity management
* Provide efficient and effective management to deliver clinical studies to high quality and standards
* Represent AstraZeneca at external events and in cross industry initiatives
* Lead the strategic, statistical thinking and contributions to clinical development plans
* Through collaboration with experts, develop design options and provide quantitative decision support

Essential requirements

* A Statistics or Maths related MSc or PhD
* Direct experience of analysis and reporting in clinical trials, ideally in pharmaceuticals or healthcare
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* A collaborative mind-set
* Genuine commitment to drive innovation to advance statistical science
* Proven leadership experience of projects and people
* Ability to apply leadership and statistical expertise to problem solving
