As a Statistician you will be part of Thermo Fisher Scientific's ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD), which develops, manufactures, and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergy, asthma and autoimmune diseases. With 1,500 employees worldwide, IDD is the global leader in in-vitro allergy testing and also the European leader in autoimmunity diagnostics.
The Biometrics team at IDD's headquarters in Uppsala is responsible for statistical expertise within the division. You would be joining a team of three statisticians who work in the Project Management Department within our Global R&D function. This role offers first-hand insight and frontier knowledge on allergy and autoimmunity in a vibrant research and production environment that presents a wide spectrum of problems with a varying degree of statistical and computational complexity.
WHAT WILL YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES BE?
In this role your work will be varied and you will work cross-functionally within the division. The work includes supporting our global organization with statistical expertise in a variety of activities related to immunodiagnostic assays. Your working day will usually be centered on product development, technical operations, quality control, and manufacturing, as well as clinical evaluations, regulatory submissions and other investigations.
ARE YOU THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THE ROLE?
We are looking for someone with a statistics degree and we hope that you have some experience from a similar role. You should be a proficient user of statistical software packages R and/or SAS and must speak fluent Swedish and English with German being a merit.
Being as comfortable working in a team as you are working independently will be important, as will the ability to multi-task and work on several projects at once. You should approach your work analytically and have good statistical consulting and problem-solving skills.
This role suits someone who is structured and enjoys working with the customer service in focus. Working experience in the life science field or industry is a merit. Experience of or a deeper interest in areas such as quality control in a multifactorial test environment, analysis of observational data or high dimensional data analysis is also desirable.
