Do you want to make a difference for millions of patients? Are you in the very beginning of your career or do you have some experience from the pharmaceutical industry or other statistical applications, you are more than welcome to apply! Join us at AstraZeneca Late-Stage CVRM (Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism) Biometrics to discover future treatment for patients with Heart Failure, Diabetes or Chronic Kidney Disease.

Working with us at AstraZeneca means being entrepreneurial, thinking big and working together to make the impossible a reality. We are growing the group of statistical programmers and offer an exciting opportunity for new team members with passion, power, and pathos to join us. The role is based at AstraZeneca's dynamic R&D site in Gothenburg, Sweden where you will be part of a stimulating and collaborative environment where scientific questions are addressed in an innovative and sustainable way.

What you'll do

You will be part of a team of statisticians and statistical programmers in the work with providing programming expertise to the design, conduct, evaluation, and regulatory submissions of our clinical development programs. Depending on your experience, you may contribute to more strategic planning, quantitative decision making, act as specialist in our contact with external providers and partners, mentoring more junior staff, lead projects and be involved in developing programming tools, standards and processes.

Essential for the role

The minimum required educational level is a BSc degree in a relevant field such as statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, computer science, life science or engineering. Knowledge in using programming software such as SAS, R, SQL and Python are relevant qualifications. Since our work is conducted in cross functional project teams in an international environment, good collaboration and communication skills, as well as good written and spoken English are vital.

You should possess good social skills, be a strong teammate and be able to work optimally in a global organization where teams often are geographically dispersed. We value your ability to work independently and take own initiatives with a positive, results oriented and problem-solving demeanor. You need to have an interest and ability to communicate subject matter expertise to specialists in other fields as well as an interest in the application of programming in pharmaceutical development.
