Product Data Models Engineer

The unit "Standard and Practices" within Group Development Services has the responsibility to establish, maintain and issue SKF group standards in the area of tolerances, materials, product
identification and other finished product and related standards for all platforms. The work is made in close co-operation with the different Divisions, manufacturing units, staff units and other
Business units for worldwide use.
We are now strengthening our capability in the area standardization and implementation of "virtual" product description/models/specifications to meet the requirement from closer integration between IT
systems, flexible demand chain sourcing and development of cross platform products.
The focus is to establish common product standards in the area of digital electronic product model/description for all SKF products stored in the different group systems (master sources) such as
Windchill, Siebel, ProdMast, etc.
The central Standard & Practices team is responsible for the development of the product standards; specify rules, regulations, product specifications etc. in order to facilitate choice, maintenance
and interchangeability for the SKF products as well as the implementation in all SKF factories.
Job Profile:
• Within the central team, to be responsible for defining common product data models for all platforms, establishing new SKF Standards & Practices.
• To lead the implementation of these new Standards & Practices throughout the SKF development organizations, manufacturing units and define system owners.
Our requirements:
• Engineering degree, or equivalent, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical or Information Engineering.
• You have knowledge of the SKF common systems and how they work.
• You are familiar with standards and standard setting procedures.
• Team leading and facilitation skills for driving continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills, customer focused and result oriented.
• You are a good project leader
• Willingness to travel and work abroad on short assignments.
• Good ability in written and spoken English. Knowledge of other European languages is an advantage.
