Our Swedish office in Stockholm used to belong to Coding Technologies, a company acquired by Dolby in 2007. Coding Technologies invented the MPEG technologies SBR (Spectral Band Replication) and PS (Parametric Stereo) which today are widely deployed as aacPlus in mobile phones, digital radio and TV broadcasting systems. The group also contributed to the development of MPEG Surround.
Job Summary
We are looking for a Research Engineer (Full time) for our office in Stockholm, Sweden, who will contribute to expanding and shaping the future technologies developed in our company.
Job Function
The position provides the unique opportunity to
• participate in the research and development of future audio, speech, and multimedia technologies
• contribute new inventions to our growing patent portfolio
• bring new technologies into new products for e.g. mobile and internet applications
• collaborate with colleagues in Germany, USA and Australia
Skills and Education
• Experience in any of the following (or related) fields: Speech or audio signal processing, psychoacoustics, electro acoustics, mobile communication, gaming sound
• MS in electrical engineering (or similar)
• At least 3 years programming experience in Matlab and C
• Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written) including the ability to write documentations
• Curious, passionate and devoted to creating ground-breaking audio and multimedia technologies, but willing to also do implementation work
• Eager to turn ideas into reality
• Proactive and positive, focused on possibilities/solutions rather than problems as well as on achieving results
• Team-player
