Position
The SSE Development Manager will work to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward individual donors as determined by the needs of the Stockholm School of Economics. The Development Manager will work closely with the fundraising team within the External Relations Department at SSE to create opportunities for increased philanthropic support from constituents.

The role will report to the Head of Development & Alumni Relations.



Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Identifies, cultivates, and solicits major gifts from individual and alumni prospects. Consistently conducts the donor cultivation work and planning necessary to have a robust pipeline of proposals. Writes and edits reports, gift agreements and donor proposals. Attends alumni events and engagements in which assigned prospects are present. Stewards assigned donors through ongoing communications, recognition activities, invitations to key events, and interaction with beneficiaries of their support. Performs related duties as assigned or required to meet department and organizational goals and objectives.

Qualifications
5+ years of relevant experience in fundraising, or private sector sales, marketing or related field. Higher education degree preferred. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal and administrative skills. Ability and willingness to travel. Previous experience working with senior level executives.



Required
Work includes occasional nights and weekends, and travel. Applicant must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Swedish.

This is a full-time, permanent position in the Development and Alumni Relations team at the External Relations unit.

External Relations is a consolidation of Communications & Marketing, Corporate Relations, Alumni and Foundation Relations, Special Events, and Career Management. The efforts are led by Stockholm School of Economics' Director of External Relations.
