The functional area of this team revolves around features that make a service become more social and intelligent. It can be social in the sense that it makes people feel involved and connected with other users on the salesforce application. It is intelligent in the sense that it appears to understand what is interesting for you as a user, and presents information that makes the user more productive and informed.
The ideal candidate is a passionate, innovative and talented software developer with a nack for creating high-quality internet-based software. The candidate likes to think out of the box and come up with scalable solutions for new and innovative user functions. An ideal candidate has deep interest and possibly academic degrees in one or more of the following areas: language processing, artificial-intelligence, machine-learning, recommender systems, semantic web, RDF/OWL.
Responsibilities:
• Design and implement the interactive user interface required for social, collaborative and intelligent functionality.
• Invent, implement, analyze and improve algorithms in the realm of language, recommendation and semantic processing.
• Work with the Product Manager and members of a cross-functional team to deliver new functionality with high quality and under tight deadlines.
• Participate in the scrum team under our agile development process.
• Make design decisions and be able to defend them in front of the architecture team on the basis of performance, scalability, and future expansion.
• Develop high-quality, production ready code that can be used by millions of users of our on-demand platform.
Required Skills/Experience:
• Deep understanding of at least one programming language
• Working knowledge of Java.
• Deep interest and knowledge in at least one of the areas semantic web technologies, artifical intelligence, machine learning, recommender systems or language processing.
• Experience building usable highly scalable systems or application.
• Experience with SQL and relational database programmin.
• Thorough understanding of software architectur.
• Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with web programming including JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
• Experience with JavaScript UI frameworks like Ext JS, jQuery, GWT, or YUI.
• SOAP / XML / WSDL
• Advanced academic degree on any of the following areas: semantic web technologies, artifical intelligence, machine learning, recommender systems or language processing.
• Master's Degree in computer science or equivalent experience
