The Challenge Ahead
We are looking for a talented person who is passionate about gaming to provide team leadership within our Dice Operations team.
The Senior Development Director is a crucial leadership role in the studio. You own and are responsible for operational structure, development processes, project and studio strategy, milestone schedules, time, budget and overall resources for the Dice Operations studio.
We believe that the successful candidate has proven leadership skills and desire to lead. Project Management experience is a must; 6 years of leadership experience; strong negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution skills; effective communication skills across all levels of an organization; ability to motivate and inspire team. We think that you have a background in Computer Science, Production or equivalent
Primary Responsibilities
• Establish team culture and values
• Establish effective organizational structure
• Budget and ROI analysis; Operational and R&D costs
• Motivate and inspire the team
• Manage and initiate change as required
• Monitor and act upon team health
• Protect the team from external interference
• Studio staffing
• Establish clear goals and expectations
• Directly managing a team
Processes
• Set and drive the implementation of effective processes
• Continually drive process innovation and improvement
• Document and share learning?s
• Ensure all teams has all the necessary information to do their job
• Maintain an environment that promotes and encourages collaboration
• Coordinate with project stakeholders
Execution
• Drive and facilitate project planning
• Make sure that the overall schedule allows for individuals to partake in personal development and studio activities
• Measure, track and report progress
• Drive risk management, including analysis and mitigation
• Solve problems (not just escalate them)
• Manage and deliver to expectations
The Next Great DICE Operations SDD Also Needs
We believe that the successful candidate has proven leadership skills and desire to lead. You have extensive experience of managing large projects and product launches preferably from the video games industry or online/web. You possess strong negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution skills; effective communication skills across all levels of an organization; ability to motivate and inspire team.
We think that you have a background in Computer Science, Production or equivalent. You have a firm understanding of the disciplines and skills required to make a game and the technology behind it.
Excellent mastery of written and spoken English is a must.
We also believe that you are comfortable and have experience working with (or equivalent)
• Managing budgets
• Agile methodologies, e.g., Scrum/Kanban/Lean
• Risk analysis and mitigation techniques
• Tools, e.g. Jira, HanSoft, Excel etc
