Bleaching Chemicals is one of three global sub business units within AkzoNobel Pulp and Performance Chemicals. We are the world's largest manufacturer of sodium chlorate and one of the largest producers of hydrogen peroxide. We supply essential chemicals to the global pulp industry and other selected industries from 24 locations worldwide. Our head office is located in Marietta, Georgia, USA and we employ 950 people.

We have an immediate opening for an individual who can fulfill the following role as Specialist within Bleaching Chemicals Technology.
The position will be located in Bohus, Sweden.

Responsibility

Key Objectives:

• Ensure that the most cost effective technology is employed in order to create competitive advantages and customer.
• Develop and optimize the chlorate process from a long-term perspective globally.
• Ensure efficient knowledge transfer between the different chlorate plants and between the plants and Technology and Process RD&I.
• Ensure that the best ideas are spread to the part of the business that benefits most.

Main responsibilities:

• Develop and implement new methods and working tools in the business.
• Be a resource for all Chlorate plants regarding process development and optimization.
• Ensure the specialist competence and follow the development within the Chlorate technology area.
• Be contact person for Chlorate plants. A contact person has the responsibility to actively follow up and support the business and ensure that the most cost efficient and technology is used.
• Make long-term project proposals to develop the Chlorate process so that the most cost efficient and competitive technology is used.
• Lead projects decided by the Bleaching Chemicals Technology Manager.
• Participate in realization of projects regarding new processes and products.
• Participate in projects within the Bleaching Chemicals technology organization.
• Ensure that knowledge within the Chlorate technology area is transferred within the organization.
• Lead global benchmarking activities.
• Identify and solve complicated chemical and technical related problems.
• Follow the development within the responsibility area and suggest relevant education.
• Standardization of design and operating parameters.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Chemical engineering or similar.
• Several years of experience in research, process development and production within chemical industry.
• Profound knowledge and several years of experience within the Chlorate technology area.
• Experience of leading projects.
• Good knowledge in communication.
• Good knowledge in English.
