Scania genomgår nu en transformation från att vara en leverantör av lastbilar, bussar och motorer till en leverantör av kompletta och hållbara transportlösningar.

Scania's trucks and buses offer world leading driver ergonomics. As a part of Scania's department for Styling and Vehicle Ergonomics, the group Physical Vehicle Ergonomics works with improving the driver environment, i.e. ergonomics as well as the general aspects of how well adapted the cab is to the needs of the driver.

The group is responsible for identifying, communicating and verifying the physical requirements of the driver environment. The requirements are defined in terms of properties such as comfort, visibility, work load and general practicality. We practice human-centred design and work in a design oriented, iterative manor.

The group is now looking for a new colleague with experience from and deep knowledge in human factors, biomechanics and ergonomics.

Your work will include

* Give quick answers to most general questions that relates to physiology and ergonomics based on your experience and knowledge of the human body

* Carrying out user tests with truck and bus drivers and customers using test rigs, mock-ups, VR and prototype vehicles

* Performing ergonomics computer simulations, mostly with Ramsis

* Reporting of testing and simulation results in the form of property requirements to the projects

* Participation as a human factors specialist in cross functional project teams and as support in decision making for project management and various management teams

* Keeping up to date with and develop methods and tools for human factors studies through following current advancements in research and through networking within and outside of Scania and the VW Group

You combine your own know-how and experience with input from user studies, tests and simulations. The work may involve occasional traveling.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a long experience from working with design in relation to the physical potential and limitations of the human body. You should preferably have experience from interacting with users as a natural part of your design work. You value methodical work as a way of achieving structured continuous learning. The ability to visualise and to efficiently communicate your message is a key success factor in this role. You are pro-active, self-going and communicative. You are convenient with and have a good ability to switch between the whole picture and the details. You are fluent in English.
