Electric Propulsion architect at OHB Sweden AB
OHB Sweden AB is a recognized integrator and supplier of satellite electric propulsion subsystem, chemical propulsion integrators and propulsion items innovators,.
We are now looking for a Senior electrical Propulsion Architect for the next Small Geo mission: Heinrich Hetrz.
1. SCOPE
The Electric Propulsion architect will be part of the Propulsion team and be responsible of the technical development of all of electrical propulsion related activities: engineering, AIT and procurement aspects of the Heinrich Hertz subsystem. This shall include the development of a mechanical based pressurizing system, the procurement of all the components of the subsystems: valves, pressure transducer, thrusters (cold gas and electric thrusters), driving electronics, tanks and tubing. Some of these will be developed in house and supervision of the in-house activities in collaboration with the others entities is required. Subsystem budgets and analysis towards the Prime team. Shall be done in line with all OHB policy and aimed at the development of the expertise in the OHB Sweden AB .
He / She will work and report to the Propulsion Team leader in cooperation with the electric propulsion coordinator.
2. TASK DEFINITION
• Consolidation of the Electric Propulsion Subsystem architecture
• Consolidate the Electric propulsion proposed architecture
• Together with the electric propulsion coordinator establish the development schedule and plan the pre PDR activities
• Identify and prepare implementation of adequate engineering tools
• Finalize negotiation with the customers and suppliers
• Perform the subsystem analysis: budgets (mass, power, I/F, TM/TC?) and analysis (gauging, plume?)
• Consolidate the development plan beyond PDR
• Propulsion Equipment procurement
• Review and upgrade EPPS equipments specifications
• Negotiate the suppliers and establish a policy for those located in the US
• Organize PDR support
• Manage implementation of chemical propulsion subsystems on spacecraft
• Plan engineering and production team work in the project
• Review and consolidate the task sharing between System Engineering/ propulsion Engineering and AIT.
3. SKILLS
• Space projects experience
• Electric Propulsion expertise in spacecraft propulsion
• Ability to organize teamwork
• Ability to work autonomously (decision, reporting, developing a strategy)
• Fluent in English
• Ability to travel
• Ability to move into a new culture
