The main responsibility for R&D is to contribute to the innovation process, comprising application, product and process development, within the Perstorp Group and also to support business in all types of customer relations. Analytical Chemistry, which is one of three R&D laboratories in Perstorp, has now the opportunities for an experienced analytical chemist with focus on structural investigations.
R&D is facing an exciting time with challenging projects in the pipeline where Analytical Chemistry is responsible for analytical method- and technique development throughout the projects. The innovation pipeline has today a high focus on polymer products but analytical expertise is requested throughout the company for all types of analytical support.
This position is the basis for a long-term commitment aiming for a specialist position, where high analytical problem solving skills in combination with leadership skills are highly valuable.Your assignment is mainly to participate in project work and customer support activities as an analytical expertise. You will take on responsibilities for continuous method and technique improvements in specified fields and manage internal and external network needed for the work tasks.
We are looking for you having
• Broad knowledge and competences within the chemical analytical areas
• Proven experience of structure elucidations and high technical knowledge in mass spectrometry
• Good theoretical and practical knowledge in several technique areas as chromatography and spectroscopy
• Good knowledge in organic chemistry and understanding of industrial manufacturing processes.

• Ability to supervise colleagues and act as consultant in analytical matters
• Leadership / project management skills
• Communicative with good reporting skills and presenting ability
• Engaged to network, exhibiting a curiosity and a drive for results.
We believe a Masters level or PhD with analytical chemistry and organic chemistry as majors is required for the position. The successful applicant has several years of documented experience as an analyst from industrial R&D work. R&D is a project-oriented organization and familiarity to project driven work and project management is acknowledged. Spoken and written English is required.
