SPECIAL TRANSPORT PLANNER
Location: Getinge / Växjö
Job Purpose
As Special Transport Planner at the new central function Logistics Services you will be responsible for part of the business area's daily transportation planning and booking, aiming at optimized cost, availability and delivery service.
Job description
In your role as Specialist Transport Planner you will act as the specialist within the field of logistics planning and you ll use this expertise in order to coach less experienced co-workers in the field of logistics planning. Your competence and unique pool of experience will provide an important tool for the people you work with and it will be necessary for your focused work with complex and/or urgent special transports. Your main areas of responsibility include:
• Day-to-day transport planning and booking in the dedicated Logistics management system
• Ad hoc planning of special transports
• Providing the service of re-planning and re-booking from customer requests
• Monitoring and solving of any delivery problems that may occur
• Pricing updates and maintenance of pricing and routing information for the assigned area
• Conducting operative supplier meetings for review of KPIs, invoicing issues, claims/damages etc.
• Maintaining efficient contact with related internal stakeholders (Factories and Sales & Service units) with the objective to provide a central point of contact for all transportation-related questions
• Invoice control and auditing
• Short and long term monitoring of key performance indicators of assigned area, with related root-cause analysis and corrective actions if necessary
• Development of solutions for operational problems own to the assigned area and continuously strive towards efficient and effective operations
Qualification
You have the ability to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple open problems and challenges, along with a cooperative mindset and willingness to provide excellent service.
You have numerous years' experience from professional freight forwarding or related tasks with equivalent complexity, along with a solid theoretical knowledge of logistics and physical distribution. You are an experienced user of IT systems, preferably from the use of logistics/transportation management systems or systems with equivalent complexity.
A prerequisite for this position is an ability to communicate and solve problems efficiently together with carriers and internal stakeholders all over Europe. Hence, a strong command of the Swedish and English languages is necessary, and fluency in French or other European languages is of added value.
