Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Our sourcing manager for filters and clutches is continuing his development and changing to another interesting position. Therefore I need to hire You to be part of the Drivetrains components team and joining our growth within both traditional segments and Scania's extensive, future eMobility focus.

Me - the recruiting manager

I am 45 years old and have worked at Scania Purchasing for the last seven years in three different positions. Prior to joining Scania I spent ten years within Investment Banking primarily running large Corporate finance projects. I have also worked at Stockholm Stad Environment and Health Administration. I am Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management from Linköping University and also Environmental Engineer. My interest in technology, business and environment is solid and this is why I like Purchasing and Drivetrain components so much. I love watching people around me grow and I actively participate in their development and hence an open atmosphere and real dialogue are corner stones in my leadership.

The team

Drivetrain Components has a great team spirit, excellent knowledge transfer and a lot of fun together most likely thanks to our variation in responsibilities and individuals. We are part of the Powertrain department and currently consist of five purchasers in an interesting diversity - a mix of age, gender, experience and nationalities. We are responsible for the procurement of clutches and transmissions, transfercases and tag axles, filters and cooling, eMobility solutions and batteries. Our responsibility is rapidly growing with continued electrification of commercial vehicles.

You

I am looking for a passionate and experienced professional with a Academic degree or
equivalent experience and a commercial background. You will be negotiating with some of the world's largest suppliers to vehicle industry and the ability to adapt and organize is essential. The pace is often high and challenging but very rewarding. Flexibility is a need but that also goes for Scania offering possibilities to grow in the profession while keeping an active private life and family. Success in this position takes commitment, focus, analytical skills and strategic thinking. We will fill you with the positive energy!

The tasks

As Sourcing Manager in this Medium complexity position you will be responsible for some strategically important material groups which involves extensive contact both inside and outside Scania. Within your commercial area you will make new deals with both short- and long-term perspective. Certain administrative tasks such as contracts, order issuing, invoice handling connected to your negotiations and sourcings are needed and will be done with the support of our Commodity buyer. You will be responsible for a 3-ring and coordinate the strategic work that is done in cooperation with MAN, Scania R&D, Project Purchasing, SQAs, Scania and MAN Latin America and Navistar via VW joint venture.
