Purchasing within Commercial Operations is a department within Scania Purchasing, created to accelerate the integration of the purchasing activities in Scania Commercial Operations companies worldwide. Together with the Commercial Operations organisation we are developing new ways of working with purchasing and can offer a very challenging and entrepreneurial environment. In this work we have the opportunity to leverage volumes and spend across countries and business units.

The tasks ahead of us is challenging with tough goals of savings and value creation to be achieved by bundling volumes, standardization between different countries, and at the same time improve service to our customers. We are now looking for a new sourcing manager to the Central team in Södertälje.

Job Description as Sourcing Manager Central Team SWD
Working as a strategic purchaser you will be responsible for the development and implementation of purchasing activities for our Commercial Operations network globally. The procurement areas that we work with covers a wide area of responsibility within the indirect material categories.

Our team is working close to purchasers located in the Business Units throughout the world, but also close to internal customers and central purchasing departments in Södertälje. The work includes responsibility for sourcing strategies, supplier selection and negotiations as well as supplier quality, service and cost development. Together we create value for the customers, staff and stakeholders by managing procurement deals with respect to a wide range of products and services.

For the position we believe you have relevant experience from a purchasing environment of minimum 2 years. Your ability to create confidence and trust among colleagues at Scania Purchasing and our internal customers will be vital. Furthermore it is important that you are capable of managing a change process and to implement new methods and principles. The position demands high level of initiative and self-motivation

Background
We are looking for a team player, for whom its evident that joint efforts drive change. You are positive, service minded and a driven person with an interest in the Scania Commercial business and at least two years of commercial experience. You probably have a degree from university or similar.

We are looking for someone who is a natural leader and who enjoys varied tasks, both large and small. Other important qualities for achieving success in the role are an ability to communicate and to develop and maintain a broad network of contacts, both internal and external. You should be capable of expressing yourself fluently in both written and spoken English. The work requires travelling to some extent.
