Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

During the coming years we are launching our new powertrain platform as well as establishing a production site in China as a part of the shift and we are now looking for a new team member to join our journey.

Who we are

We are a diverse team consisting of eleven team members with a mix of age, gender and nationalities and with experience stretching between 1 and 30+ years within the company. We all have our own areas of responsibility but take pride in supporting each other when problems and deviations occur in order to find the best solutions for Scania. We strive for a climate where opinions and competence are openly shared within the team and learning is continuous.

Responsibilities

In your role as a sourcing manager you will be responsible for a set of segments where you set and develop the supplier base and strategies, which you align cross functionally and within Traton to optimize leverage to reach best cost and ensure right capacity. As a sourcing manager you are also responsible for creating business plan activities and deliver on those to ensure we reach our team and department targets. You also ensures the right structure when it comes to capacity within your segments for the global Scania production and in some cases for the global Traton production. As Scania is planning for a production footprint in China you will have the strategic responsibility for introducing the parts within your segment in China together with the local purchasers. You also work in close cooperation with supplier quality managers and project purchasers, who are responsible for quality and new part introduction within your segment.

As a senior sourcing manager, you are in addition to the sourcing manager role also expected to support the department when it comes to developing the commercial competence and guiding your colleagues. You should also have a holistic view of powertrain purchasing as well as the Scania's strategic roadmap and work with designated tasks connected to these areas.

Your profile

You are a person with great commercial interest and a passion for doing business while staying close to the technology. You are analytical, structured, take own initiatives and are able to handle multiple things at the same time. You are good at maintaining relationships and like to represent purchasing in cross functions as well as towards suppliers in a professional way. You are also self-driven with high integrity and contribute to the development of the team. Within all these areas of competence you have previous experience.

We expect you to have an academic degree in engineering, business or similar. We also expect you to have experience from another sourcing manager roles or another relevant background within Scania or externally, with acknowledged excellent results and with a willingness to always learn new things. As the role involves communication with global suppliers, you are fluent in English, and preferably also in Swedish.
