Scania is looking for experienced purchaser to join our Purchasing Cab Interior Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work where technology and innovation meet, in one of the most dynamic and successful transport companies in the world.
Scania Purchasing buys products and services for all of Scania's units worldwide. Our global purchasing organisation is based in Södertälje, Sweden, and has around 700 employees around the world.
Job Description
You will be responsible for challenging, developing and optimising Scania's global supplier base in your specific product range. Your main task will be creating strategic plans and activities to improve the quality, delivery precision and total cost of your segment, in cooperation with our commodity and project teams.
You will negotiate commercial agreements, actively developing existing and future suppliers in keeping with Scania's high standards. You will work closely with purchasing colleagues throughout the Volkswagen Group, with quality managers, production and design.
Your profile
You have a strong commercial interest and are passionate about doing business. You are a graduate engineer or industrial economist with at least 3 years' professional experience as a purchaser. Or, you have similar experience from working in commercial or production engineering.
We're looking for candidates who are professional, creative, flexible, results-oriented and can work with several tasks at the same time. You will work with many contacts at different levels internally and externally, so good negotiation, communication and cooperation skills are important. You're analytical, can work independently but in a structural way, enjoy taking the lead on the solution of problems, enjoy a fast tempo, can work well with tough deadlines and can create strategic, comprehensive solutions to achieve agreed objectives.
The role involves a large international network, so you will need to be proficient in both written and spoken English.
