Axis is now looking for the right person to fill an opening as Sourcing, Commodity Mechanics within our Operations organization.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
This position has the overall responsibility to develop mechanical suppliers for global demands and ensure all requirements are met and total supply chain cost is minimized. You will also develop and execute sourcing strategies to ensure that we get maximum contribution from each supplier.
Your responsibilities in will include:
• Supplier/risk/price management within your field of responsibility.
• Work closely with the Research & Development department to influence technical design decisions to meet technical capabilities, and business objectives.
• Develop a commodity technology roadmap aligning business requirements with supplier capabilities within your field of responsibility.
• Negotiation of supplier contracts.
• Maintaining and updating of the AVL (Approved Vendors List)
• Purchase order placement and order follow up within NPI (New Product Introduction).
• Secure long lead time components within NPI (New Product Introduction).
The position requires approximately 30-40 days of travelling a year.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe you are an open minded team player with strong analytical skills, a structured way and with a result oriented focus. In order to be successful in this position it’s important that you are prestige less and willing to share knowledge and information. Knowledge of different cultures and business practice is desirable.
Apart from above, we want you to have:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Operations, Mechanical engineering or similar.
• At least 5 years of purchasing/sourcing experience from international companies.
• Experience within commodity management.
• Very good negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing methods.
• Experience from working in ERP systems.
• Hands on.
• Excellent skills in English, both oral and in writing.
TEAM SOURCING
The Sourcing team is responsible to provide optimal supplier base to assure total supply chain cost are minimized, quality standards are maintained and service level to R&D remain high to be able to meet Axis time to market requirements and growth.
The team is involved in all stages of a products lifetime - e.g. industrialization, development, design for manufacturing and product data management in PDM and ERP system during development of new products. During serial production the team supports with maintenance and product changes. The main collaboration is all departments at Operation and R&D.
