Our team: Plastic, Paint & Rubber team is a global sourcing team of 12 highly dedicated and skilled people located on all continents. Our mission is to select and develop a global supplier base, create synergies to achieve sustainable competitive advantages in areas of plastics, paint, rubber and fluid transfer (i.e. we are responsible for sourcing components such as: air deflectors, paint, plastic tanks, mudguards, air intake).
Position Description
Mission
The Sourcing Buyer drives and executes all contractual and sourcing activities up to supplier award with the purpose of selecting the most competitive ones from a Quality, Delivery, Costs and Features perspective in accordance to the Sourcing strategy and Projects? prerequisites.
Responsibilities
Lead, negotiate and execute all sourcing activities in early phase of the product life cycle; i.e. Technology development (AE) projects, GDP projects, PMRs when new supplier is needed.
Manage and maintain the Taxonomy in his/her scope, taking into account the impact on Operation and Project.
Identify new suppliers when needed.
Negotiate; ensure signature and store of all relevant agreements in all phases of the product life cycle, including business extension.
Negotiate optimized part, tool, development, prototype cost, payment terms and productivity commitments with suppliers.
Follow market and technology development in its area of expertise.
Contribute to the development of sourcing strategy, and ensure implementation.
Ensure in timely manners sourcing cases with signed agreements and hand-over to Project buyer(s).
Ensure collaboration with the other buyers within the respective segment(s).
Depending on the supplier company size he/she can be appointed as GTT and/or Volvo Group Supplier Host.
Deliver the KPI's for his/her related area

Sourcing for projects

With respect of the decided governance and processes, the sourcing buyer has the authorities to act to fulfil the above described tasks and responsibilities.

Qualifications
Business acumen, MS Office
BS degree in Business, Engineering or related field and or equivalent experience
5 years experience in Purchasing and/or extensive negotiation experience with a supplier/customer relationship
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Strong team player, self-starter and the ability to take initiatives
Willingness to travel from occasionally to frequently based on ongoing activities
