The department Concept andArchitecture within unit Safe Vehicle Automation is home organization for the solution architect team, legislation management and research coordination.
As Solution Strategist you will find yourself together with experienced research leaders and solution architects working both internally within Safe Vehicle Automation as well as cooperate with VCC Business Office, the Safety Center and architects across R&D and affiliates. Your task is to coordinate and drive the work with SVA product strategy roadmap and knowledge plan. This means to encompass tasks like considering what our enterprise strategic plan means for the product development within SVA as well as urge and support the ART's to raise their creative ideas, after all that is where product responsibility over time resides. Current focus areas are Volvo Car Zero Collision, Sustainability/Energy and Autonomous Drive development. Our knowledge plan will increase the transparency regarding ongoing research and enable prioritization & optimization of new projects or collaboration initiatives, VIPP PhD and TS positions. You visualize and bring your plans to SVA management team for continuous governance.
Do you fit the profile?
We believe that you have a Master of Science in Electrical-, Mechanical-, Mechatronic Engineering, Applied Physics or equivalent and at least 5-10 years of experience from all product development phases, advanced engineering, concept and industrialization. Moreover, we see that you have previous experience from leading tasks in a cross-functional environment. You are furthermore fluent in English, spoken and in writing.

As a person, you are structured and have good analytical skills. Moreover, you are innovative and have leadership qualities. We believe that you have the ability to work independently but also enjoy being a part of the development team. You are capable of both, focusing on daily issues as well as long term visions.
You seek to continuously improve your technical leadership with the purpose to make others grow and take responsibility for the complete system solution. You take a systematic approach to visualizing and handling architectural technical debt. You are communicative and can use suitable value argumentation in your dialogues.
