Do you want to be part of Volvo Group's exciting journey towards simulation driven development? In this position you will lead the sub-portfolio including all solutions and applications within the flow area at Volvo Group Truck Technology (GTT). You will have the opportunity to develop or improve applications supporting Volvo GTT in its digital transformation journey and to achieve its commitments to reduce the global warming and therefore reduce its greenhouse gas emission.
You will act as a bridge between IT delivery teams (e.g., HPC), engineering stakeholders and simulation software vendors to ensure a fit for purpose of IT solutions enabling cutting-edge technology development using simulations. You will manage the operational and tactical development of the flow IT Solution Sub-Portfolio to support GTT and Business Areas Strategic Objectives & Digital Engineering Long Term Plans. You will identify and lead initiatives within the flow simulation area to maximize efficiency and productivity and take ownership of the FLOW SW roadmap for all functional areas.
Your Mission:
Manage the Flow sub-portfolio budget
Main point of contact for business requirement, license needs etc.
Manage/support the Process & Solution Key User network and the Solution Management meeting.
Development and follow-up of strategic and tactical road maps of the flow sub-portfolio
Accountable for that training needs are identified, and training plan is secured within the Flow area.
Manage efficiency and harmonization of the Sub-Portfolio, focusing sharing of best practices, increased re-use, and reduced running cost on the Sub-Portfolio
Drive Flow community globally, where relevant stakeholders working with CFD simulations within GTT should be involved.
Initiate and /or follow-up application benchmarks
Be an effective bridge between the R&D organization and the IT delivery teams
Collaborate within an international team of engineers throughout Europe, America and Asia
Your competences/Experiences:
This role requires a Master University degree or Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, computer science or engineering physics/chemistry
A proven track record in the design / simulation area within trucking / automotive
At least 5-10 years of experience as a CFD/CAE engineer
Experience in license models and setup from CFD vendors.
Interest/Experience in configuring HPC clusters for efficient use of CFD applications
Ability to effectively communicate with team members in multi-cultural and geographically distributed teams
Curiosity and a strong ability to learn new technologies.
Positive energy with a drive to motivate oneself and others
Change management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Location
The position is based in Gothenburg Sweden but is expected to serve all sites where Group Trucks Technology is present.
