Your mission
Software is becoming increasingly important for Volvo Cars. More customer value is realized by software, and more of our investments are in software than ever before. Treating software as an asset, evolving it, and keeping the same software between car lines and hardware/car generations has significant value. As the technical teams are establishing new software methods and solutions, we are also exploring new business models and customer offerings from S&BO. As the business is growing, we are now looking for a Solution Business Owner - Software & Electronics Platform (SBO for SWEP) that can bring value to our teams.
As a Solution Business Owner, you have the primary business and technical responsibility for the governance, compliance, and ROI for SWEP. Your responsibilities and day-to-day work will be focused on the following:
• Defining business strategies and requirements for OTA and software updates
• Evaluating business case for hardware upgradability of compute platform and related hardware
• Being a primary stakeholder on software architecture in Base Product Development
• Defining business aspects of software development and compute platform (cloud/edge computing)
• Providing business input and strategic direction at PI planning for SWEP
• Being the primary stakeholder for SWEP backlog priorities
Who are you
We are looking for people who enjoy collaboration and take accountability, as the ability to work within teams is key for success. You have integrity and dare being bold, but in a thought-through way. To have a strategic mindset and the ability to drive change is an absolute must. This a position with high visibility and lots of opportunities to make an impact. As such, we believe you have experience in managing senior stakeholders. To succeed, we believe that your background and skills include:
• 10+ years of experience from a relevant position (SW Architect, Business Owner etc.)
• In-depth understanding and interest in software architecture and platforms
• Strong leadership skills: knows how to drive engagement, focus and & performance
• University degree in Engineering
• Fluent in English, both verbally and written skills
• Strong verbal & writing skills, and the experience and ability to present complicated findings in a clear and concise manner
• Analytical, financial, and business acumen
