Our department, Active Safety, consist of over 400 ambitious and skilled engineers and is responsible for all the way from research and advanced engineering to implementation, verification and validation of current and future customer offers. The department is responsible of the Product Stream, Autonomous Drive and consist of four Agile Release Trains (ART's).
- Advanced Driver Assistance System
- Protective Safety
- Vehicle Motion Control
- Autonomous Drive Function, Software & Sensor Platform
Within the product stream, we develop systems such as Collision Avoidance, Automatic Parking, Driver Support, Brake system Software. We develop and integrate system and functionality into a complete product, encompassing SW, HW and sensors as radar, camera, ultrasonic and lidar, that build a comprehensive perception of the surroundings.
We are now looking for a number of Solution Architects for our Product Stream Autonomous Drive.
What will you do?
As a solution Architect, will you and the team lead and drive the architectural runway for the complete product stream. The team will also handle incoming Epics, make a first analysis, and set directions for the ART's.
The different areas of scope / competence the team will cover are Functions/Feature design, System Design, SW design, Sensors and Actuators, Verification & validation and Legal, rating and certification. There is also a need to handle the Product Stream set in a context of both off- and on-board architectural perspectives.
You will work in close cooperation with Stakeholder such as the Solution Manager for Autonomous Drive, Solution Architects from other product streams, the business organisation, Product Managers (PM) including Product Owners (PO) and System Architects at the different ART's and Technical experts. There is also a number of external stakeholders i.e. suppliers and new tech companies.
You will:
* Optimize, balance and secure scalability for the Architectural Runway to support business Features and Capability for the Products Stream
* Participate in high level design and explore alternatives to establish high level system design
* Participate in the different meetings connected to Agile way of working
* Securing quality aspect in the architectural solution
* Participate in the continuous exploration process
* Co-ordinate strategy work from the teams and align with PM and Solutio
What do you need to have?
To be successful in this job, we see that you have at least 5-7 years of relevant work experience.
* Leadership skills i.e. integrity and courage in creating the architectural roadmap
* B.Sc of Engineering, computer science or equal
* You have SW, system design or electrical engineering development experience
* Preferably, you would like to work in an agile environment (we love agile!)
* Experience from leading product development assignments and ability to motivate a team
* Be able to master the English language.
* Preferable if you have practical and theoretical knowledge about the Volvo product development process and especially the electrical development process
* An interest in leadership issues

* practical and theoretical knowledge about the Volvo product development process and especially the electrical development process, or experience of analysis & verification/product development within electrical engineering in another business area
* Experience from leading analysis & verification or product development assignments and ability to motivate a team to deliver on time, meeting agreed requirements using new ways of working.
