The Solution Architect leads the development team, and is responsible for producing artefacts, and participate in instances to get the solution approved. This assignment includes close cooperation with the IT Architect in order to identify data sources and establish valid integrations between the solution and the sources of data.
Who you are
We believe you are a social, open, communicative, sales-minded and ambitious team player full of drive and optimism. Your skills include: 3-7 years of experience as a Solution Architect or similar, with experience of large IT landscapes. An understanding of business processes and the ability to translate them into a solution architecture, both from a tactical and strategic perspective. Experience in creating, implementing and documenting solution architecture where aspects such as ownership of data, integration patterns, capabilities, maintainability, scalability and performance are covered. Good at expressing yourself and explaining complex matters in a simple way. Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you have experience of working with external vendors of IT services, managed service and/or offshore situations.
Essential experience and skills
• Good understanding of source to target data mapping and Business rules associated with the ETL processes
• InfoSphere ETL development knowledge
• Understanding of information modeling
• Understanding of Use-Case modeling
• Understanding of system development needs
• Understanding of organisational structures and processes
Knowledge & Specific Skills Required
• The role requires good knowledge in Business Intelligence
• High-level analytical and ability to quickly grasp and process information
• Structured and a sense for details
• Experience in producing Operational Models
• Experience in supporting Software Developers during their work to produce an application according to the architectural models
• DB2, Oracle, SQL server and UNIX shell scripting
• IBM Infosphere information server
• ETL tools - DataStage
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written
• Good social skills and experience of teamwork
