Connectivity at Scania is one of the key components in Scania's "driving the shift" strategy. At EC Connected Systems we work with the enabling solutions all the way from the vehicle mounted telematics unit, via Telecom networks to the Scania service platform in the cloud. Connectivity in general is all about Data. Data in large volumes in a flexible and usable way is a key success factor for organisations that want to survive the digital shift. Scania today have over 400000 (and counting) vehicles and other products connected online. The department Connected Systems (EC) is looking for senior solution architects to help us drive the overall connectivity- & IoT platform architecture vision in team APIS. The APIS team is working cross functional with platform architecture from the ground up to support security, privacy, and availability of data.
What you will do
Your main tasks will be to work with layout, design and visualization of the connectivity- & IoT platform and it's systems and their interfaces. Typically taking part in planning activities and deeper analysis of the enablers in the platform making new services possible. You will participate in creating patterns and best practices for the development teams to ensure the decoupling, cohesion and flexibility for the whole connectivity platform. Ensuring that it has the right robustness, performance and scalability to support Scania's transformation to be truly data driven.
Who you are
We are looking for a highly experienced Solution Architect with good communication skills and social skills. You like to see the bigger picture and you enjoy sharing your view with others. Agile development, the SAFe framework, continuous deployment and large scale integrations are to you well known and appreciated techniques.
You most likely have a formal degree in engineering physics, electrical engineering or computer science, or the equivalent experience. In addition you are expected to have at least 5 years' experience from working with technical architecture. Knowledge of the areas of cloud/ IoT/ connectivity and/or the electrical system of (heavy) vehicles is a great advantage for this role. You take responsibility for what you do and communicating in English and Swedish is easy for you.
