Who you are
Alfa Laval is a world leader within the key technology areas of heat transfer, separation and fluid handling. The Business Unit for High Speed Separators in Tumba, near Stockholm, is responsible for research, product development, product management, product support and business development related to disc stack centrifuges.
About the jobWith this position, you will become part of the core competence team of Solid Mechanics. Solid mechanics is a vital part of the product life-cycle and we are involved all the way from conceptual and product development, to sales and service support.
The performance of the separator is dependent on high rotational speed. This generates great forces and therefore places high demand on both static and fatigue strength. As solid mechanics specialist, you will handle questions regarding the structural integrity of the entire separator. The group is also responsible for design evaluation methodology and testing technology applied to the separator. The position offers many interesting challenges and opportunities to grow and develop as a solid mechanics specialist.
Who are you?We are looking for a candidate with a university degree in engineering, preferably within the field of Solid Mechanics. The use of more and more complex numerical simulation also demands in-depth knowledge in numerical analysis. Technical understanding in neighboring fields, such as material science, manufacturing technology and mechanical design, is valuable. neighboring fields, such as material science, manufacturing technology and mechanical design, is valuable.Besides a strong profile within your specialist field, you should be analytical, have a genuine curiosity and the ability to acquire new knowledge.As a technology specialist, it is expected that you are a good communicator and can be a strong representative and driver of your subject, within our company.You will be based in Tumba outside Stockholm, in the Business Unit High Speed Separators, reporting to the Manager of Core Technologies R&D.
