Core System Platform
At the department of Core System Software we are building a high-performance computer-in-the-car architecture designed to host software-driven functions and features in our next generation pure electric and self-driving vehicles. In other words, instead of multiple electronic control units around the car to control individual features and systems, Volvo Cars next generation cars will have centralized computing with a core system that serve as a platform for our stakeholders and partners to deploy applications on. Our multi-core architecture includes high-performance (HP) systems on a chip (SoC), providing a framework for current and future services.
What you will do
You will be a Software System Architect and be part of a cross-functional team together with other Architects and Systems Engineers. The team is responsible for identifying core system stakeholder requirements, analyzing and breaking down these requirements to system level platform requirements, and defining architecture and design solutions within various technical areas such as execution environment, communication, network, software update, logging, calibration, vehicle time, diagnostics, safety, cyber security and more. As a System Architect you will be in a leading technical position with the ambition to create solutions, requirements, clarity and structure. The role requires a lot of collaboration with colleagues in the team, with other teams within Core System Platform and other parts of R&D. It also involves close collaboration with Software Engineering and System Verification teams.
Do you fit the profile?
We believe that you are a highly skilled System Architect with several years of experience of architecture and design for different types of large and complex software solutions. You are a genuine problem solver with a positive and solution-oriented mind-set. You are known to be a team player, you are curious and have a great ability to learn. You embrace the agile principles, and you have a continuous improvement mind-set. You have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Software, Automotive, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Good communication skills in English (speech and writing) is necessary.
We believe that you also have experience and knowledge in: Software platform development with application developers and integration teams as customers. Requirements management. Modelling languages such as UML.
Meritorious
Experience and knowledge in: Risk management, agile work processes (VCC process is based on SAFE). Requirement tools, preferably SystemWeaver. Information models.
Previous experience within Automotive industry is preferred with topic such as: ASPICE. Functional Safety for Road Vehicles (ISO26262). Cyber Security
