The department Propulsion Energy System is responsible for development of major parts of hybrid and electric vehicle systems at Volvo Cars. The group Charging Software is responsible for delivering software functionality, in regards of actual software deliveries, but also software requirements for both our inhouse Software and the supplier part of the software, for the on-board charger (OBC) and the DCDCs in our electrified vehicles.
The on-board charger (OBC) is essential for electrified vehicles, it holds the functionality to charge the traction battery from the grid, and it is for sure of highest importance in a pure electric vehicle.
Both AC- and DC-charging are in current projects and wireless charging is already around the corner.
The DCDCs coverts energy from the traction battery to the low voltage system for suppling all the 12/48V power consumers in the car.
Our vision is to deliver the best functionality in the market for Charging Software functionality and continuously evolve our way of working. We strive for a more modular platform that is suitable for our vision of continues integration/deployment and a higher focus on the product.

You need to take an active part to review/understand the system requirements, to break-down the system requirements, to ensure that the relationship between the different levels of requirements is set, and of course, to create software requirements that are both specific and clear.
As the area of charging is still expanding, you need to be updated on the different versions and revisions of the charging standards as for example CCS and CHAdeMO, and to understand the new charging technologies that will come.

We are a global company so a must for us is that you are fluent in English. Also you should have a driving license (B), preferably you love cars as much as we do!

In this role, you need to be driven by a system-software thinking, how things are connected to each other, how they interact to each other, and to get a satisfaction of knowing how it all should work.
