Software Quality Assurance Engineer
What you'll do
In the enabling Agile Release Train (eART) Software and Dependability at Solution Support within Software and Electronics Platform (SWEP) we are now looking for a Software Quality Assurance (SWQA) engineer.
The eART gathers competence areas within Software Engineering Process/Methods/Tools, Software Quality, product Cybersecurity and system safety with the purpose of strengthening the collaboration and alignment between those areas and guide the establishment and maintenance of the relevant development processes and tools for the entire Research and Development (R&D) at Volvo Cars.
As SWQA Engineer you will perform quality assurance of software products developed in-house and by suppliers, assess work products with respect to predefined quality criteria at defined gates, and report deviations. You shall also contribute with (measurable) feedback and continuous improvements to close gaps between the work products and the quality level they need to fulfill, providing expert support to product development organizations/teams in R&D responsible for software product deliveries.
You shall ensure that the software product development organization/teams have quality criteria, methods for measurements, checklists, etc. relevant to the specific technical domain based on the general quality criteria.
In your role and being part of a central process organization, it is ensured that the SWQA assessment you perform is independent of the development of the concerned work products.

What you'll bring
You have a customer focus, understand our external customers and future trends, and contribute to populating the short- and long-term strategy for built-in quality within software development together with the team's PO and accounting for internal and external customer needs.
You are skilled in teaching, guiding, and coaching design departments (at all levels) on usage of the appropriate work products, methods, and tools. As you will work across teams, a collaborative mindset is essential for this role.
You own a BSc in a relevant area (mechatronics, computer science and engineering, etc.) or equivalent based on work experience. You have good knowledge of SW Engineering and SW Quality Assurance and working experience with standards such as Automotive SPICE and ISO 26262.
