If you are reading this, you probably already know that Polestar is an electric performance car brand. We work hard to create a unique experience for the customer, owner, and driver. The thrill of driving the car, the digital experience of buying, owning, and controlling a Polestar require us to push the limits of technology and software development. Sustainability has been there from the beginning and we have set a moonshot goal for climate-neutral cars in 2030. There is an ocean of opportunities in this for talented IT professionals who wants to dive in and make a difference.

The Role

As the Software Quality Architect, you will set the quality standards for software development and work in close collaboration with the Cloud Software Architects to make sure these standards are applied by the development teams at Polestar. That includes incorporating technical standards in our tools, processes and quality guardrails, throughout the software development lifecycles. Specifically, you will:

• Set the quality standards and principles for software development and ensure they are followed by the different development teams.

• Be responsible for providing central quality metrics with guardrails functionality around: Operational Excellence, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, Security, Cost Optimization.

• Coach and help the development teams to continuously improve the quality of their feedback loops.

• Launching, overseeing and take ownership for initiatives providing the domains with tooling and/or software engineering practices for higher code quality.

About you

In order to thrive as our new Software Quality Architect, we believe that you are already comfortable with full-stack development and modern programming principles, perhaps from product-oriented digital organizations. You probably have great knowledge of design patterns needed for developing effective code, as well as experience in microservices such as AWS stack and tooling. Knowledge in Software Lifecycle Management and QA practices is considered a great plus as well. Specifically, we believe your experience includes all or several of the following:

• 5+ years proven experience within QA engineering on a modern tech stack (such as distributed architectures, Kubernetes, containers, serverless and similar).

• Knowledge of the technologies we use at Polestar so that you can practically measure the quality of digital products and services.

• Experience with quality and test automation toolchains.

• Recognized as an expert in one or more areas of software quality product functionality.

• Senior technical leadership, influencing and inspiring other members of a digital organization.

• Strong understanding of a modern software development lifecycle.

• Strong analytical skills, sense of creativity, critical thinking and a pragmatic mindset for problem-solving.

• Familiarity with relevant quality assurance industry standards, best practices and methodologies.

Personal Qualities

Specific experience is all good and well, but it's important to state that we're looking for a colleague who can grow with the company, drive us forward and ultimately enjoy working together with our amazing team. Polestar is a fast-growing company which is taking on the world with innovative new ideas. To thrive, you shouldn't be afraid to take space, work creatively and engage your colleagues by initiating new practices. In short, you are probably:

• In possession of strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Enjoying coaching and mentoring, with the goal to grow and maximize your team's potential.

• A "doer" who can facilitate, demonstrate, and practically solve hard or novel questions in the quality domain.

• Passionate about technology and excited about the impact of emerging technologies.

• Open to taking on new challenges and learning new skills.

• Are a learner and teacher, not stopping at what you know today and what you can teach others right now.

• A Critical thinker, detail-oriented and self-motivated with high-level analytical skills.

• Embracing a culture of trust and complete transparency.

• Dedicated to customer satisfaction.
