Software Knowledge EngineerEngineering Knowledge Services - EKS, an integrated part of the Knowledge & Simulation Tools group in the SKF Engineering & Research Centre within Group Technology Development & Quality at SKF is responsible for development, support, training and maintenance of 12 different software packages used by application- and development engineers. These software tools range from very advanced, capable of simulating complete mechanical systems, to expert systems for bearing damage analysis and tools for basic application engineering studies. EKS is currently staffed by 7 people and is located at SKF in Göteborg, Sweden and Bangalore, India, and will further globalize in the coming year.
Over the past couple of years the number, as well as the technical content and coverage of the internal SKF software packages that fall under the responsibility of EKS has increased. Due to the related increased responsibility, and to strengthen our team we are now looking for a:
Software Knowledge Engineers

Job Description
You will provide support to all SKF application- and development engineers worldwide on the use of our engineering software calculation tools and ensure their further development following the inputs and requirements from the SKF engineering community. Your main focus area will be to provide support for and give trainings in the tools within the SKF Simulator suite. In this task you will work together with the development team and your colleagues at EKS.
Job profile
• Support and advise users on approaches for model building, debugging, running, and results interpretation
• Be an active interface with users and record their feedback
• Execute acceptance testing of software before release
• Develop and maintain user documentation and execute training courses
Requirements
• Minimum bachelor university level degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Experience with analytical software tools for mechanical engineering and design
ANSYS, Pro/E, Pro/Mechanica, MatLab, Mathcad
• Experience with training other people
• Good ability in written and spoken English. Knowledge of other European languages is an advantage
• Structured and analytical
• Good communication skills, both written and verbally
• Customer focused problem solver
• Self driven personality
• Good team working skills
