Software Integration Engineer - Plug-in Module

At RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. Together with other engineers over the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. As SOFTWARE INTEGRATION ENGINEER - PLUG-IN MODULE within the group Architecture & Non-Propulsive Control you are responsible for the delivery of Software Plug-in Module (SPM) software (SW), documentation and interface specification. SPM is a model-based SW developed within several different sections in order to decrease the number of nodes. The amount of SPMs increases quickly in our powertrain projects. The delivery process, which includes integration into complete powertrain deliveries, will be handled by you and your two colleagues. You will work in close collaboration with your team in a cross functional role with an interface toward a big network of various function owners.

Job profile:

• Deliver SW packages to our suppliers
• Deliver complete specifications of SPM interface to suppliers
• Develop m-script for Matlab
• Support file and project structure in the SW configuration system
• Develop support tools with Visual Studio (ASP.Net / C ++) and SQL server management studio
• Operate and communicate complete SPM timetable
• Generate C code, vendor-specific code and files from the models from SPM developers
• Generate object code and vendor-specific files in the "make-environment" from suppliers
• Tool support, education of SPM developers regarding processes and tools
• Troubleshooting of SPM software issues
• Generate SW for in-house tests, so-called short loops
• Create complete SPM documents based on documents from the SPM developers

Your profile:

• University degree within the field software and/or programming
• Competence in SW development for embedded systems
• Basic programming skills, preferably in C, C ++
• Self starting and result oriented
• Good communication skills in English, orally and written
• Driving license for car (B rated)
• Experience with Matlab and m-script is meritorious
• Experience in database programming is meritorious
• Experience in model-based systems, preferably Simulink and / or Target Link is meritorious
