Vehicle Electrical & Electronics Europe being the Strategic steering line for these Purchasing activities within GTP, organizes a strong collaboration within teams spread across different sites/regions. We are also the operational line responsible for Electrical & Electronics Europe business all along the purchasing process (sourcing/projects/operations/revenue service parts). The team is responsible to drive end to end Purchasing activities whilst securing QDCF-TSR (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk Management) targets.

The Vehicle Automation arena is an extremely dynamic one with new players arising every day, from the traditional automotive ones to the software based start-ups. The Purchasing function needs to be on top of this game by scouting and selecting new partners worldwide, capturing innovation that will bring value to our customers and developing new ways of working both with partners and with our internal stakeholders. .

Mission
As Embedded Software Expert Senior Buyer, you are the reference in the Embedded Software area for the complete EE team, you will secure that all software negotiations outputs are maximized with providing expertise and knowledge in market and competition analysis, costing, licensing , Intellectual property rights...
In collaboration with other buyers, you are on case by case analysis, driving or supporting negotiations

You define and drive implementation of the SW segment business plan and contribute to relevant product system roadmaps.

Reporting To: Manager Automation Purchasing.

Main Responsibilities
Lead the global Embedded software network
Coach and support other buyer involved in SW sourcing and negotiations with embedded SW development, IP, license and maintenance pricing knowledge
Build and maintain SW cost database in collaboration with IPS IT buyers
Lead Definition and drive implementation of Vehicle Software business plan
Develop and maintain market players and trend knowledge
Drive negotiations in order to continuously improve competitiveness
Represent Purchasing in relevant x-functional forums
Forecast cost evolution for scope of responsibility
Monitor, identify and mitigate risks in cooperation with SQ&D, Finance, Manufacturing, Engineering and Brands teams
Actively contribute to the team development by bringing improvement ideas, support your peers and sharing good cases and learnings

Competence & Experience
3+years of experience of SW development or purchasing in one of the following areas: Autosar platforms, Vehicle automation, Robotics, Controls and Motion Planning, VR/AR, Physics Simulations, Mapping and Localization or Sensor Fusion
Bachelors or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Systems Engineering or similar software development curriculum
Experience with defining and negotiating license , service level and development agreements
Experience with Intellectual property rights, licensing models and license agreements
Ability to comprehend, evaluate, and compare Sw architecture, development efforts, and development tools
Academic exposure to software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.)
A good understanding of data acquisition and network communication systems (CAN, CANOpen, Ethernet)
One strong Object Oriented Language (C++, C#, Python, Java, etc.) would be considered as a plus
Multi-task effectively and adapt within a rapidly changing environment
Proven ability to drive and close negotiation
Excellent communication and networking skills
Self-driven and autonomous
Fully fluent in English
