What you'll do at Elekta
At Elekta, we're expanding our Neuro business line treatment planning software team. We develop Leksell GammaPlan, a desktop Linux-based integrated treatment planning system for the Leksell Gamma Knife®. By designing efficient, reliable, and high-performance software solutions, your work will directly contribute to helping medical professionals plan personalized and precise cancer treatments. You will be part of a collaborative team of Software Engineers, working in our beautiful new office at "Forskaren", Stockholms building of the year. We work with the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment to drive innovation in cancer treatment.
We will be expanding our team with a mix of junior and mid-senior developers, with a mix of skillsets. Our product is a Linux-based system, largely written in C++, and we are looking for people who besides these skills also bring experience with one or more of the following areas applicable to such systems:
GUI desktop application development
Cyber security
Virtualisation and cloud-connected systems
Radiation therapy systems, dose handling, DICOM
Maintaining and updating a customized Linux distribution
Considerations of updateability/backward compatibility/etc. with an installed base of older products
Configuration management, continuous integration pipelines, etc.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Participating in all phases of software R&D projects, with a focus on requirement specification, design, planning, implementation, testing, and documentation, while adhering to company standards. We work in a regulated industry, so understanding and following procedures is vital.
Evaluating technologies, methodologies, and products to enhance software development.
Applying Agile principles and practices, following the SAFe methodology as part of a Scrum team.
Understanding and adhering to Elekta's quality system while contributing to its continuous improvement.

What you bring
To thrive in this role, you should enjoy working in an Agile team environment and be comfortable discussing, presenting, reviewing, and verifying your work and that of the team before it reaches end users. We work closely together with multiple other teams and functions within the company, so people skills are important.
We also expect that you have:
1-10 years of professional commercial experience in C++ development.
Experience in a team-based environment with disciplined use of source code version control and branch management.
A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Professional proficiency in English.
