As part of one of our world class engineering teams you will play an important role in shaping the future of our video delivery solutions. Your job will include systems design, software development and requirements engineering, as well as testing and documentation.
You are an experienced system developer/architect with a solid understanding of the challenges involved in designing highly scalable distributed systems with carrier-grade stability and performance. A strong background in Python and experience with open source products like Cassandra, ElasticSearch, ZooKeeper and Kafka is a big plus. You feel right at home in a Linux terminal and count the TCP/IP stack to your extended family. Experience in developing rich client-side web applications is a nice bonus. Aside from the technical know-how, you understand that software development is ultimately about solving problems for the user, and that usability doesn't just apply to the front-end. You probably have a Master of Science in computer engineering, computer science or similar, and at least five to seven years of relevant work experience. You also have a good general understanding of agile software development processes.
To succeed in this role, you need to have a pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach. You are a self-starter who enjoys working both independently and in a team. You combine technical skills with humor and interpersonal skills. You can also communicate efficiently both internally and externally. Since we have a strong international focus with employees in seven countries and customers across the globe, it is important that you master English in speech and writing.
