Axis is now looking for the right person to fill an opening as a Software Engineer in our Research & Development organization focusing on the Technology Product Platform.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
You will be part of the very talented and devoted Product Platform team where we develop the technology foundation in Axis market-leading network video solutions.
As Software Engineer you will play an important role in the development projects, developing SW in the embedded systems area with state-of-the-art HW and tools for our camera products
Your responsibilities will be to:
• Be a key player in the development of our technology platformPerform professional analysis, design, implementation, testing and documentation with high quality in our future platforms
• Experimenting and developing new functionality to enhance our product portfolio as well as looking ahead and be part of the specifications for coming platforms.
• Perform advanced trouble shooting and debugging of complex embedded functionality
• Bridge the interface between core technology development in HW and the product SW teams
• Work with the Linux kernel, device drivers, image and analytics frameworks, new video ICs, FPGAs, low-level SoC programming and tools. Taking into consideration restrictions like bandwidth, power and memory sizes.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Axis is looking for a structured and multitasking individual with the ability to work unsupervised and to take own initiatives. You are humble, open minded, eager and willing to learn. You always take full responsibility and have high pride in delivering quality on time. In order to thrive in this position we believe that you are flexible and have an excellent attention to details.
As teamwork is crucial for Axis as a whole and for the team we believe it’s important that you can contribute to a good team spirit promotion in a creative and stimulating work environment.
You have a Master's degree in computer science or similar and are a dedicated and innovative individual with a strong personal drive. We believe you have a keen interest in embedded programming and low level development, that you have good C programming skills and experience from working in a Linux environment.
Your English is fluent, both written and verbal.
THE TEAM
You will be working in the Product Platforms team consisting of 20-25 experienced engineers that develops the foundation for Axis future products.
We are responsible for and deliver the SW technology platforms on which the product development organization builds cameras. The team is also a competence center in the R&D organization for the Linux kernel and HW device drivers.
The typical employee in our team has a Master's degree and works in roles such as software engineer, technical lead or technical expert. Our goal is to efficiently run SW platform development projects that enable delivery of products to the market with high quality to strengthen Axis' market leading position.
