Job Description

Are you a passionate Software Engineer with leadership skills that wants to work with one of the fashion industry's biggest tech transformations? Do you want to create state of the art solutions to make an impact on a global scale? Then this is the opportunity for you!
Business Tech is the new agile product organization within the larger H&M group. You will be part of our central Developer eXperience team with the mission of creating the best possible conditions for our product teams and engineers to successfully build, deploy and run their digital services.
What you will do
As Competence Lead Software Engineer at H&M you will have dual focus - staff responsibility and hands on coding. You will also act as the employer's extended arm - to follow and implement H&M Group's vision, goals, strategies and values, as well as acting as an ambassador always supporting your employees. You will work together with Software and Tech Engineers in our engineering community and enable our product organization to adopt modern software architecture patterns, DevOps and Cloud Native. Some of your daily work includes:
• Scaling and supporting the adoption of our strategic engineering platform (GitHub Enterprise)
• Developing automation assets and templatized starter packs to get teams going quicker
• Supporting engineers in the organization to adopt modern software development practices such as agile, cloud native and DevOps
• Engaging in our Tech Community and contribute with insights, advisory and showcasing good practices
• Work with performance management and salary review for your employees
• Collaborate with Product owners and Agile coaches on development and workforce planning
• Remain compliant with laws and policies, and act when necessary regarding e.g. under performance, work environment, etc.
• Recruiting new employees
Who you are
To be successful in this role we believe you are equally passionate about being a leader supporting, coaching and helping your team members grow. We believe you have the ability to apply leading software development practices and present alternative solutions and technical choices. To do this, we think you have a curious mindset, excellent communication skills as well as:
• Deep in one or several programming languages such as .NET, Java, Python
• Expert in CI/CD (We use Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise)
• Experience in cloud technologies (we use Azure and GCP) with focus on PaaS and event driven application patterns
• Ability to understand and analyze complex information and share it in effective and powerful communications
• Ability to understand people psychology and to connect to people to encourage new behaviors
• Ability to take responsibility, work proactively and continuously improve activities in complex, quickly transforming environments
