hela Sverige Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
At Scania R&D, within the Connected System unit, we work with the future's sustainable transport system and the connected vehicle. Our responsibility is to ensure that data from the connected products can be used to generate as much value as possible. We innovate and deliver data insights to empower product-, service- and business developers to take the right, data-based decisions.
Would you like to transform massive data sets into usable insights? Do you also want to cooperate with stakeholders at Scania to understand which insights are needed to solve a business problem? We provide an environment where we in the team are responsible for the complete process all the way from requirement handling, development, quality assurance to production and maintenance.
Our different Scania internal customers, such as R&D, Sales or Repair and Maintenance make us an important part in making Scania truly data driven, supporting the company in its aspirations to become sustainable and responsible for our future.
Your work assignment
We are now looking for an experienced engineer/developer to strengthen a newly formed team within the Connected Systems unit.
You will be working as part of an agile team with all parts in the process of turning data from our connected products into usable insights. We work closely with our customers to understand their needs and turn their requirements into a fully automated data product that continuously delivers on their needs in an agile way. You will be involved in all the stages creating a scalable data solution, from understanding how raw data is created, how to best treat the data to create value and build the infrastructure for automation and delivery to our customers.
Our development environments are mainly Snowflake and AWS, chosing program languages most suitable to get the task done (e.g. SQL, Python, Java, Scala, C#).
Your Profile
As a person, you are pragmatic and communicative, with a genuine technical interest. You have a well-developed logical mindset that will enable you to understand how to turn requirements into code. You have a high quality focus and an understanding of that what we build is what we will run in production.
As an experienced Software Engineer/Developer you have worked with data warehouses in production, backend development and cloud infrastructure.
You have an academic education at university level in engineering physics, electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent work experience. You communicate fluently in English, in both speech and writing.
