Software Engineer – Multimedia at SONY Mobile Communications in Lund

Are you up for the challenge to use the power of SONY Entertainment Network, SONY Pictures, SONY Music and SONY PlayStation, and connect that to the Sony Smartphones to bring value to users on the street?

The Multimedia team at Sony Mobile in Lund is looking for developers with interest in software development and everyday entertainment - at home, on the bus, running or at the party. If you are newly graduated or been working for a couple years doesn't matter. We like you to join the Sony Mobile office in Lund where you can use and evolve your current programming skills and software development knowledge, to bring even better and more innovative multimedia experience to our world class SONY Smartphones.

The Multimedia Platform team is delivering state of the art software for our high end Android smartphones and is globally responsible for the heart of multimedia - the Android multimedia framework. On top of what Android brings us we add our unique SONY technologies used in PS4, Bravia TVs and more SONY products. Your work would consist of integrating the latest Android releases for the hardware we select for our products and make the software run nicely fulfilling requirement from both global mobile operators and internal SONY stakeholder.

We make the videos you record play nicely, we make the music you stream sound wonderful and we make sure the battery lasts even in the heaviest use cases.

You need to be eager to learn, don't be afraid to dig into problem solving and most of all use the collected competence in the team - to ask for help and guidance to solve your task jointly in the best way.

Qualifiers:

BS/MS in computer science or equivalent experience.

Some experience in C/C++/Java programming.

Good communication skills and a team player.

Self-driven problem solver and eager to learn.

Well spoken and written English.

Differentiators:

Multimedia interest (music, movie, photo, camera)

Android application development

Understanding of the mobile industry

Open Source involvement.
